Anyone who has been watching the current Channel 5 Series Raw Recruits: Squaddies at 16, will know that for young people signing up to the armed forces, it can be tough – both physically and mentally.
Through the delivery of a new Engineering Training Awards (ETA) qualification – specifically to prepare young people for life in the armed forces, Multi award-winning Military Standard Training is confronting this issue.
ETA have worked in collaboration with MST to produce the qualification, which primarily focuses on the key areas and requirements for candidates successfully completing selection and phase one training.

Michael Hunt, MD of ETA said:
“This has been an exciting project to develop a new qualification that really adds value to the development of young people and their progression into military service. We would like to congratulate MST for being the first organisation in the country to deliver this new programme and certificate learners”
Andy Emmet, MD of Military Standard Training said:
“Put simply, there wasn’t a qualification of its kind out there. We see this new qualification as a framework that directly increases their potential success at the initial selection process. By setting appropriate expectations and instilling the values and behaviours that are necessary for life in the armed forces and providing a foundation of what included at phase one training. ETA have also been a breath of fresh air, setting a different level of service from any other awarding organisation we work with.”
